The Big Bear Clean Up
Join us throughout the entire month of September as we host Big Bear Clean Up litter-picks all around the country - raising funds and awareness for Animals Asia along the way!
Our #UnbearableChallenge is back! But this time, we're not asking you to throw yourself out of a plane at 10,000 feet - this is something we can ALL get involved with!
There's no better time to get involved with your local community to help clean up the environment - and your clean-up could be the perfect platform to inform people about the horrors of bear bile farming happening thousands of miles away.
So grab your fellow Moon Bear Heroes and let's get litter picking for the bears!
THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO GET INVOLVED!
1) ATTEND A LITTER PICK IN YOUR AREA
Check out our map below & see if there is already a planned litter-pick in your area. If so, email [email protected] or call 01752 224 424 to express an interest in joining in. We can then put you in touch with the Co-Ordinator. We ask that you either set up a fundraising page to gather sponsors for taking part in the #UnbearableChallenge Big Bear Clean Up or make a donation to take part in the litter pick. It's a win-win for the environment and for the bears!
2) HOST YOUR OWN LITTER PICK
If you can't see a litter pick being hosted in your area, why not hold your own? We can provide you with all the materials you'd need to safely and successfuly host the perfect Clean Up! It's that simple! You can set up a group fundraising page & encourage others in your local community to join you, all while raising vital awareness about the plight of the bears - and making our enviroment our healthier and safer place to live at the same time.
If you're not sure if you'll get sponsors - just ask wonderful supporter Ann Markowe - she held a sponsored litter pick last year and after writing to her local residents to tell them what she was doing, she raised over a whopping £1,000! You'd be surprised how many people would love to support those willing to step up and help the environment we live in, especially for a cause as precious as the bears we care for.
So why not sign up today! REQUEST YOUR FREE DIGITAL OR POSTAL PACK HERE - packed with information about how to organise your Clean Up & how to make it a roaring success for the bears!
FURTHER INFORMATION AND FAQ's:
The Big Bear Clean Up aims to bring local communities together to tidy up the environment, while also bringing the problem of Bear Bile Farming (though happening thousands of miles away!) to the forefront of everyone's minds.
Do I have to raise sponsorship to take part?
As a fundraising event, we do ask participants to try and raise a minimum £100 sponsorship for taking part in this, what some people would view as, an Unbearable Challenge! However you can also set up a Group Fundraising Page for your litter-pick which will reach a much wider audience - share it far and wide & you'd be surprised how many people would love to support a cause that involves cleaning up the world around us. If you really don't think collecting sponsorship is an option for you but would still love to take part - perhaps consider making a donation to the campaign for what will surely be a fun day out getting down and dirty for the bears!
When can I hold my litter pick?
You can hold a sponsored litter pick for Animals Asia whenever you like! However we will be promoting The Big Bear Clean Up as happening all throughout September, and this is when the majority of activites will take place. This campaign was initially promoted to be happening throughout May but due to Coronavirus concerns, we felt it appropriate to push it back to when it will be safer for people to gather in groups.
