Happy #moonbearmonday!

The Big Moon Bear Move, which saw the recent relocation of 19 bears to a new enclosure, was a joy to watch.

One of the major reasons for the move was to give all the bears a fresh outlook – and this enclosure on the edge of the woods below the mountains is certainly idyllic.

Despite initial trepidation from all the bears, it wasn't long till they were exploring every inch of their new environment.

Curiosity certainly got the better of Irwin Jnr as he became the first bear to conquer the highest peak and savour its wonderful view.

Encouraged by the possibility of food hidden at the top– and perhaps thinking of what he might spy from its vantage point – Irwin Jnr clambered up the handy wooden ladder, scaled the topmost A-frame, then wandered across the log peak and had a good look around.

We're pretty sure he liked what he saw.

Irwin Jnr has been at our Vietnam sanctuary since 2008 when he was rescued from Quang Tri province in central Vietnam. Alongside life-long pal Yin Yang, Irwin Jnr was found under a bus being smuggled into the country from Laos.

Thanks to the local Forest Protection Department, that gorgeous cub – weighing just 5kgs – was saved from the illegal wildlife trade and able to grow up to be the beautiful bear we know today.

Have a great #moonbearmonday everyone!
