Animals Asia would like to say an enormous thank you to all our supporters for ensuring our Double your Donation campaign reached its goal.
Thanks to you, Animals Asia has overcome its most challenging year to date, emerging in 2015 ready to continue its campaign to end bear bile farming and fight animal cruelty in China and Vietnam.
The challenges we face will not disappear overnight. In our campaign against animal cruelty there is no time for rest nor room for complacency, but your support means we can continue the fight in good heart – until the cruelty ends.
Animals Asia founder and CEO, Jill Robinson said:
"We never ever forget that we are working for animals and on behalf of our supporters. We are your representatives in fighting animal cruelty and you are the ones that make our work possible.
"It's hard to begin to explain just how incredibly inspiring it is to know we have your support. Just when we needed you most, you stood up and were counted. Thanks to your efforts, Animals Asia has come through our toughest and most successful year ever ready to maintain that momentum into 2015.
"From the world's biggest ever bear rescue to challenging animal performance to the lifelong commitment of caring each and every day for the hundreds of bears we have rescued, 2014 was a truly incredible year for Animals Asia."
"The reality now is that the challenges of last year will become the norm. The pace of change means we can make a greater difference than ever before and we can help more animals. While that will continue to be a strain on our resources – we won't ever give up.
"We are buoyed by positive change across the board. In Vietnam, it is a very exciting time as the number of bears on farms reaches its lowest level yet. In China too, it seems we can look forward to the country's first ever animal welfare legislation.
"It is an unbelievably exciting time for animal welfare in Asia and we're incredibly proud to be acting as the voice of the region's animals while representing our dedicated supporters around the world. None of our work would be possible without you. Thank you so, so much."
"Happy New Year everybody, we'll see you in 2015."
