I am delighted to pass over my Blog today to Christa, our Germany Director – and my endless thanks to Denise in Luxembourg for her years of passion and help for the bears. She, like so many friends across the globe, has been moved by the story of our recent rescue in China and has inspired the students of the Robert Schumann School in Luxembourg to rally behind the bears. It's official - Chinese and US (NBA) basketball legend, Yao Ming, has a heart as big as China..... and he is twice as lovely too.
Just a simple but heartfelt message from all in the team to say how much we love you for loving and helping the bears, dogs, cats and all animals of Asia....
Just recently we had a special guest along for a Dr Dog visit in Chengdu - UK actor Peter Egan who had come over to see the bears (particularly his namesake, newly rescued Peter bear) but then readily agreed to join us in a trip to see some elderly folk at Xi Shu Rui Yuan community at this very special time of Chinese New Year.
To hear vet Monica talking to camera in the surgery about our gorgeous Oliver while he was gently sleeping on the operating table was like listening to the worst kind of horror film.
I’ll never forget what an amazing start we had to 2013, and it signals an optimistic and hopefully incredible year ahead.
Vicki, one of our vet nurses on site, and also Muppet's “other” mum, joined Suki, Jenny, Lucky, Icy, Hoy and I at a fabulous "Friends or Food" event at a famous bookstore (Wen Xuan) in a shopping precinct in Chengdu.
On this special New Year's Eve, here a few words of thanks sent earlier to our special family of Board and staff, and with every word now sincerely extended to you, with our grateful thanks for your never ending help and support.
Sometimes it's hard to comprehend how lucky we are to see so many remarkable and truly sincere celebrities intelligently and passionately helping us to Stop the Eviction.
Jill's Bio
Jill founded Animals Asia in 1998, after an encounter with a caged bear on a farm in China changed her life forever. She now heads a team of over 300 enthusiastic staff and divides her time between our bear rescue centres in China and Vietnam and our Hong Kong head office. She travels extensively to participate in conferences and speak at fundraising events.
