Our fabulous Hong Kong Patron, Karen Mok recently celebrated an exhibition of her 20 years of talent and stardom in "The Age of MOKnificance".
Featuring Animals Asia as her chosen charity, the Opening Ceremony was held at The Landmark Atrium, where our Managing Director, Jim Smillie, Donor Relationship Manager, Cindy Ip, and I went along last Sunday to join in the celebrations with Karen, her husband Johannes, and her family – mum and dad Eleanor and Alan, and brother Trevor.
Below sees her standing in front of a dress of human hair that she famously wore at a series of concerts several years ago and said to the audience, "This is the only fur we should wear on our bodies". Karen and her team also kindly erected a donation box in the stand so that supporters celebrating her achievements could also donate to the bears!
Here’s Jim and I with Karen:
And this picture, which shows that Cindy didn't quite manage to have her picture taken with Karen, but snuck in for a hilarious scene stealer from the back.
Such a pleasure to spend the afternoon with Karen, her family and fans, and wishing her another 20 years of all the success and admiration she deserves.
Festive fun at our sanctuaries
