Our Professor Paws team have been busy sharing the love at a recent event in Lushan County, Ya'an.
Many of you will remember the terrible earthquake that hit Ya'an on April 20th and saw tragic loss of lives and so many people losing their homes. Jenny Fu describes how our team held a "care for animals" course for 100 students who are living in temporary boarding houses, and how canine therapists Xiao Bao, Apollo and NiNi taught the students how to love and care for companion animals.
A relay race was also held to give the students and dogs an excuse to run and have fun, and the story was widely reported in the media the next day. Thanks to Chinanews.com for the following photo:
As Jenny says: "The smiles on these quake-hit children's faces make us believe that animal-assisted therapy is really helpful and we hope these lovely dogs could help them to heal the pain."
