It's always nice to be back in Hong Kong and especially over these past couple of weekends, showing just how unique and special my "other" home really is.

Last weekend my friend Stuart took these pics of a local water buffalo found waiting patiently outside the door of a beauty salon in Sai Kung, and then again this Sunday we saw him sitting calmly outside the betting office in the middle of the bustling town.

Water buffalos are a big part of community life here and much is being debated regarding their own and public safety in the more urban parts of the city. But perhaps pictures like these show that we can learn to adapt together and live harmoniously with all creatures, great and small.
