Happy #MoonBearMonday everyone!
Moon bears get pretty hot and sticky when the sun beats down on that thick, glossy fur of theirs. And while the dens, trees and enclosure structures offer some shade, sometimes there’s only one way to cool off - a refreshing dip in the pool.
Bridger the moon bear needs neither persuasion nor invitation to get his paws wet - he just loves to roll around in the cool waters of the bear enclosure pool at Animals Asia’s Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre.
And he’s certainly earned the right. Rescued from captivity in Binh Duong province in January 2010, he now relishes the opportunity to stretch out and float after all those years kept in a tiny cage with barely enough room to turn around - never mind practice a few strokes.
And we say good luck to him - whether it’s a quick dip or a prolonged soak, floating belly-up on his back under the sun, or a frantic dive down deep, the choice is his.
Enjoy the pool party, Bridger. But hey, what happened to our invitation?!
We hope you all have a great #MoonBearMonday and a fantastic week.
