Following the initial spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in China and our Asian communities, the Animals Asia global family of staff, volunteers and fundraisers, pulled together in a monumental effort to keep our people and animals safe.
As the virus continues to reach communities around the world, we wanted to address concerns on a more national / local level and set out the steps we’re taking to keep everyone safe and healthy.
How you can support our teams
Along with the animals, our number one priority is the safety of our employees and volunteers, and we are not willing to take any risks. Your support, courage and commitment are so much appreciated, but we are facing extraordinary circumstances and now making a clear and emphatic plea to you all to please follow this advice and not compromise your safety for any reason.
We have made the decision to cancel all public fundraising events scheduled from now to the end of May. This includes any event you were planning to hold in your local communities or any stalls you had scheduled to run. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will send further guidelines later in May. Until that time, we are taking all precautions to protect our staff and supporters. We’d like to thank all our supporters who have already taken these steps.
Most of our employees already work from home, so to some extent we will be able to maintain a degree of business of usual. However, our office staff will also need to self-isolate which may have an impact on things such as thank you letters, banking or general response times.
To help the Animals Asia team, you can take the following steps:
During this time we will be sending emails rather than letters wherever possible.
Please check your inbox for any correspondence including your Thank You letter.
How you can support the Animals
We know many of you will be concerned about the consequences of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Animals Asia and we are grateful for your love and support. We have stood the test of many crises over the years, but this is certainly unprecedented. There is still much you can do from the safety of your homes and we will certainly be grateful for any help you are able to offer.
In the spirit of Animals Asia, we will all be keeping calm and positive while carrying on and we encourage you all to do the same.
Thank you for your love and support and please take care of yourselves and one another.
With love and thanks
